Bred by Hans Jürgen Evers (1940-2007) (Germany, before 1995).
Introduced in Germany by Rosen-Tantau/Tantau Roses in 1995.
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. (post 1970) in 2001 as ‘Black Magic’.
Introduced in Australia by Knight’s Roses in before 2014 as ‘Daniel Morcombe’.
Florists Rose, Hybrid Tea. (Series: New Generation Roses ® Collection)
Dark red. None to mild, sweet fragrance. 30 to 40 petals. Average diameter 4.5″. Large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, high-centered bloom form. Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season. Pointed, ovoid buds.
Glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: 5½’ to 7′ (165 to 215cm). Width: up to 4′ (up to 120cm).
USDA zone 7b and warmer. Can be used for cut flower or garden. Shade tolerant. Disease susceptibility: very mildew resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you’ll probably find you’ll have to prune a little more than that. Requires spring freeze protection

Can be grown in the ground or in a container (container requires winter protection).
