Description
I love peonies and I adore the peony flowered roses. I wonder if Paul Neyron might be the first, 1869, with its huge deep pink blooms? It is one rose that people sniff differently; some declaring it to have a strong Damask fragrance, while others detect very little fragrance. My nose weighs in right in the middle. This is a superb mannerly Hybrid Perpetual that will stay about 5 feet. Here, in Zone 8, it reblooms reliably about six times a season. Photo copyright Paul Barden 2009.
Introduced in 1869.
