Old Blush is also known as Parson’s Pink China. It is one of the historic four “stud Chinas” brought over from China that introduced rebloom and other attributes that changed forever the history of Western rose breeding. It’s origin in China is unknown.
Our bush has a spot of honor near the gate of one of our gardens where it blooms continuously all summer. Ours is quite tall and I am very fond of its abundant informal, loosely double blooms which are in shades of pink. It was very widely planted and deserves to continue to grace gardens, particularly of those with an interest in rose history.
Unknown until 1793 when it was discovered by Parson of the UK.
