Description
Brown Velvet is an apt name for this rose we are just beginning to grow. I first learned of it from a customer who told me I must have it. So I was very pleased to receive it and it has lived up to its reputation in our gardens. This is definitely one of the very best of the russets to date. It is notable for its depth of color, vigor and over-all health, as well as the velvety texture of its sumptuous petals. Its frequent rebloom makes a wonderful bedding rose although it is equally suitable for growing in a pot. It is lovely with beige stucco walls and red tile roofs.
Introduced in 1983.
